A genuine 3, not a Chinese 3.
The reception staff were friendly and courteous. The room wasn't on the large size but it wasn't cramped at all either. There were two 3/4 size beds and each had two pillows. The beds were typically hard but the sheets were crisp and clean.
The bathroom is a separate room. It was on the small side, had a shower screen and ample hot and cold water. The towels were pretty good. The toilet flushed as it is supposed to do. It was reasonably clean (unlike most Chinese hotel rooms).
There is a large adjoining restaurant but we opted instead to eat at the Peking Duck restaurant around the corner where we were quite impressed.
Checkout went smoothly and again the staff were pleasant and efficient.
Despite no English being spoken the staff were able to (successfully) direct us to a local Hangzhou hundun restaurant for our breakfast.
Recommended.
